Cloud Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Cloud Engineer for one of our clients in Dearborn, Michigan. Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $55.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a highly collaborative team supporting modern cloud infrastructure and application deployment environments. This role is ideal for someone with strong cloud engineering and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience who is comfortable working across both infrastructure and deployment initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for provisioning, maintaining, and enhancing cloud-based platforms while supporting CI/CD pipelines, multi-region deployments, monitoring solutions, and production reliability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud-native deployments, logging and observability tools, and operational best practices. While this is not a software development role, candidates should be able to independently read and understand application code to assist with troubleshooting and deployment activities. This team operates in a hybrid environment with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote. Please note, we cannot work with third-party subcontractors (C2C) for this opportunity. Required Experience 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a related field.Hands-on experience provisioning, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting cloud infrastructure.Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.Experience with multi-region deployment strategies and production support.Knowledge of Blue/Green deployment methodologies.Experience with monitoring, logging, indexing, alerting, and dashboarding solutions.Experience with observability and performance monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar platforms.Experience implementing and supporting load balancing solutions.Familiarity with serverless architectures and deployment models.Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.Ability to independently read, analyze, and troubleshoot application code during deployment and production support activities.Strong understanding of SRE principles, operational excellence, and system reliability. Preferred Experience Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience strongly preferred but candidates with strong AWS or other public cloud experience will also be considered.Experience supporting cloud-native applications in large enterprise environments.Experience designing or supporting highly available, scalable distributed systems.Experience with cloud networking and advanced load balancing concepts.Familiarity with modern observability platforms and best practices for logging, monitoring, and performance management. Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required.
