Java Software Engineer

*No C2C - W2 Only* Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot.Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise applications.Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.Develop highly available and resilient applications following enterprise engineering best practices.Work with AWS/cloud technologies to develop, deploy, and modernize applications.Design and optimize database solutions using SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.Implement automated unit, integration, and functional testing.Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.Troubleshoot application performance, production issues, and integration problems.Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.Work with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, Architecture, QA, and Operations.Contribute to application modernization efforts, including migration from legacy platforms to modern cloud-native architectures.Follow secure coding practices and enterprise security standards appropriate for financial services applications.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional software development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE.Strong experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot.Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles.Experience with SQL and relational databases.Experience with Git and modern software development practices.Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies.Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or other enterprise databases.Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code.Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.Experience working in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, API security, and secure software development practices.Experience modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native microservices.
