Overview
We are seeking a full-time Creative Front End Developer at Garmin's U.S.
headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging and user-friendly digital experiences across Garmin's web, mobile, and application platforms.
Working within established standards and in collaboration with creative, UX, and development teams, this position translates designs into responsive, interactive solutions while building expertise in front-end development, accessibility, and user experience best practices.
Essential Functions
Executes designs provided by UX/UI and Creative teamsBuilds responsive pages and componentsResponsible for learning Garmin's systems and standardsPerforms testing and quality assurance on web accessible code and commandsReceives guidance and feedback from senior developers
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Web Development or related field AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant web development experienceDemonstrates skills in CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScriptExperience with cross-browser/cross-platform compatibilityComfort with browser-based developer debugging tools such as Chrome DevToolsExperience writing web accessible (A11y) code that meets WCAG guidelinesFamiliarity with command-line interfaces and terminal applications for executing development-related commandsExperience working with version control and Git repositories (e.g., Bitbucket)Familiarity with code editing and development tools such as Visual Studio Code or Sublime TextFamiliarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or ReactFamiliarity with package managers such as Yarn or NPMProficiency working with PC and Mac and experience with Adobe Creative SuiteCompletes assigned work within established standardsResolves routine issues with guidance when neededContributes effectively within a team environmentApplies established standards, processes, and best practicesContributes to code quality, documentation, and continuous improvement
