Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud & Hybrid Duration: Permanent/Full-Time Location: Hybrid in New York (10036) - Mon-Thurs (Friday Remote) Position Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Azure infrastructure, cloud networking, identity, automation, security, and hybrid cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have successfully transitioned from traditional infrastructure engineering into modern cloud engineering and will be comfortable designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting hybrid environments. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise Microsoft Azure infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, identity, security, and monitoring.Architect and support hybrid cloud environments integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure.Design and troubleshoot Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, route tables, private endpoints, private DNS, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing, and related connectivity technologies.Implement and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.Support Azure PaaS services and ensure appropriate integration with networking, identity, security, and infrastructure components.Implement and maintain cloud identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and application/service identities.Develop and maintain cloud governance standards, including resource tagging, subscription organization, management groups, access controls, and security policies.Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and security using Azure-native monitoring and management tools.Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using technologies such as Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.Collaborate with security, application, networking, and infrastructure teams to design secure and scalable cloud solutions.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues spanning Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, virtualization, networking, and storage.Identify opportunities to automate repetitive infrastructure and operational processes.Participate in infrastructure modernization initiatives, cloud migrations, and continuous improvement efforts.Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related discipline.Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure in enterprise environments.Strong understanding of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.Experience with Azure compute, storage, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and governance capabilities.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, and cloud identity concepts.Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using one or more of Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Pulumi.Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and DNS.Understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.Experience supporting hybrid environments that integrate cloud and on-premises infrastructure.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple infrastructure technologies.Ability to work independently on complex infrastructure initiatives while collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
