Platform Engineer

Cloud Engineer - Leading Life Sciences Company - Hybrid in Ghent Planet Pharma are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join an innovative biotech within their infrastructure cloud platforms team. This is an opportunity to work on cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across a range of enterprise workloads. You will collaborate with architects, application teams, platform teams and external partners to deliver secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeDeploy and support Microsoft Azure services across compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring and identityDevelop reusable platform components, automation frameworks and infrastructure patternsSupport the onboarding of workloads onto cloud platformsOperate and troubleshoot containerised workloads using Kubernetes / AKSBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deliveryManage GitHub repositories, branching strategies and pull-request workflowsImplement cloud security controls and governance standardsSupport monitoring, cost management, compliance and audit requirementsContribute to cloud platform reliability, performance and continuous improvementWork collaboratively with technical teams to design and implement cloud solutionsMaintain technical documentation and contribute to engineering best practices Key Skills & Experience 3+ years' experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOpsStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft AzureStrong knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeExperience with Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Understanding of cloud-native architecture and modern platform engineeringKnowledge of Azure networking, including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, DNS, load balancing, NSGs and firewallsFamiliarity with cloud security, identity management and monitoringExperience with GitHub, source control and CI/CDExperience designing, deploying and operating enterprise cloud environmentsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAn automation-first mindset and a practical approach to problem solvingStrong communication and collaboration skills Desirable Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare or another regulated environmentCloud certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, Terraform Associate or CKAExperience working within a platform engineering or internal cloud services teamExperience supporting application, integration, data or AI workloads If you are an Azure-focused Cloud Engineer looking for an opportunity to work across cloud platforms, automation, Terraform and Kubernetes, we would be interested in hearing from you.
