This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed product team building next-generation customer experiences powered by AI, personalization, search, and recommendation technologies.
The ideal candidate will help design and build a cloud-native backend platform from the ground up while influencing technical strategy, architecture, and product direction in a greenfield environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and scale cloud-native backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Java and modern engineering practices.Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to translate business opportunities into scalable technical solutions.Drive architecture decisions, technical planning, system design reviews, and platform strategy.Build orchestration layers and service integrations supporting AI-powered customer experiences, personalization, and recommendation capabilities.Implement engineering best practices around automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and software quality.Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern DevOps practices to improve productivity and delivery outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
7+ years of experience building enterprise-scale backend applications, APIs, and distributed systems.Strong hands-on Java development experience with expertise in microservices and service-oriented architectures.Experience designing and deploying scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.Deep understanding of system architecture, event-driven design patterns, and service integrations.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, TDD, and modern DevOps practices.Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where requirements are evolving.Experience leveraging AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle to improve efficiency and code quality.Previous experience with recommendation engines, search platforms, personalization systems, machine learning products, or greenfield platform development is a strong plus.
