We take the time to understand where a professional like you is headed and only reach out when we genuinely believe there's a fit worth exploring W2 Only Local to Downey within 65 miles CGI Advantage is Required Title: DevOps Consultant Location: Downey, CA, 90242 Duration: 12 Months Skills Required The Senior Programmer will possess knowledge and experience in applications software development principles and methods sufficient to participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of new or modified applications software; operating systems installation and configuration procedures; organization’s operational environment; software design principles, methods and approaches; principles, methods and procedures for designing, developing, optimizing and integrating new and/or reusable systems components; pertinent government regulations; infrastructure requirements, such as bandwidth and server sizing; database management principles and methodologies, including data structures, data modeling, data warehousing and transaction processing; functionality and operability of the current operating environment; systems engineering concepts and factors such as structured design, supportability, survivability, reliability, scalability and maintainability; optimization concepts and methods; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; and speak and write effectively and prepare effective reports. Additional Skills Required The Senior DevOps Programmer will demonstrate expertise in modern application development, deployment processes, and DevOps methodologies, along with strong knowledge of installing, configuring, and administering Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems. They will have experience designing, developing, optimizing, and integrating both new and reusable system components, as well as a solid understanding of infrastructure requirements such as bandwidth, server sizing, and capacity planning. A strong foundation in database management—covering data structures, modeling, warehousing, and transaction processing.The Senior DevOps Programmer will have experience supporting ERP applications, particularly CGI Advantage 3.11 and 4.x on Oracle databases, and familiarity with IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere installation, patching, and SSL certificate renewal. They will be capable of leading and designing technical solutions for complex ERP systems and batch or real-time integrations. They will have significant experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines; scripting proficiency in Python, Shell, Bash, or similar languages; and hands-on experience with DevOps toolchains including Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD. Knowledge of Rancher, Kubernetes, and container orchestration, along with familiarity in scheduling batch jobs using tools like Control-M, or similar.The Senior DevOps Programmer will be adept at performing secure file transfers with SFTP clients, using tools such as FileZilla or WinSCP, and comparing files with utilities like Beyond Compare or Visual Studio Code. Working knowledge of Jira, Azure DevOps, Cherwell ticketing systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.The Senior DevOps Programmer will possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities and be experienced with monitoring tools such as Splunk. The ability to collaborate effectively with technical, business, infrastructure, and operations teams. Experience Required This classification must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.At least four (4) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity. Additional Experience Required A minimum of four (4) years of experience within the past five (5) years working with CI/CD pipelines, including strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, Bash, or similar languages, and hands-on proficiency with DevOps toolchains such as Jenkins, GitHub, and ArgoCD.A minimum of three (3) years of experience within the past five (5) years working with Rancher, Kubernetes, and container orchestration, including familiarity with batch job scheduling tools such as Control-M.A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the past three (3) years supporting ERP applications, specifically CGI Advantage versions 3.11 and 4.x on Oracle databases, including working knowledge of IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere installation, patching, and SSL certificate renewal.A minimum of one (1) year of experience within the past three (3) years working as a Linux/Unix systems administrator, including experience operating within a formal change control process. Education Required This classification requires the possession of a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
