Joining Haskoning’s leading MCF Data Centre team as an AwSV Expert, you will take ownership of AwSV, WHG and water permitting for complex projects with major international clients.

What you will do as AwSV Expert (MCF/ Data Centres)
As an Environmental Specialist with a focus on AwSV, you will be Haskoning’s internal expert on water related compliance for complex data centre projects.
You will interpret German environmental regulations and translate them into practical, compliant and buildable design solutions.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, authorities and external experts, you will guide environmental topics from early design through permitting and project delivery.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Reviewing technical designs for fuel storage and refuelling systems, glycol and cooling systems, drainage, infiltration and firefighting water retentionSupporting permitting processes, including AwSV notifications, Eignungsfeststellung and drainage or infiltration submissionsCoordinating with water authorities and preparing clear technical input to support discussions, reviews and regulatory approvalsCollaborating with external Sachverständige and Gutachter to ensure that designs, documentation and expert assessments remain alignedManaging environmental compliance throughout the project, identifying potential risks early, proposing practical solutions and ensuring that all actions and requirements are tracked through to completion

Our global Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) team provides a multidisciplinary package of consultancy services for our datacenter clients.
We provide strategic, tactical, and operational advice to our clients, including colocation datacentres, internet service providers, and telecom companies.
Our team consists of colleagues with all kinds of different expertise.
For example, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction, civil, structure, building, architecture, fire safety, control engineering, and security technology.
Together we use our knowledge and expertise to develop integrated designs for Data Centres.

What you bring
You are a structured and pragmatic professional who can turn complex regulations into clear, buildable solutions.
You communicate confidently across multidisciplinary teams, take ownership of compliance topics and drive them through to completion.
In addition, you possess the following qualifications:
A degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline, providing the technical foundation to assess environmental design challengesExperience in environmental permitting, water management or infrastructure design, enabling you to guide projects through regulatory processesFamiliarity with AwSV and WHG, essential for ensuring compliant storage, drainage and water management solutionsExperience with industrial or other large scale developments, allowing you to work effectively within complex multidisciplinary projectsFluent German and good working English, required for communication with authorities, experts, clients and international project teams
