Description
We are seeking 2 Application Developers for a remote role; in-person attendance may be required for some on-site meetings in Oklahoma City, OK.
This is a 5 +multi-year role supporting a modernization initiative to replace aging legacy systems.
Modernization responds to long-standing challenges such as fragmented workflows, manual processes, limited scalability, and stability issues in legacy technologies.
The initiative introduces a modern stack—Angular, REST APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, Power BI, a document management and process automation solution (pending platform evaluation and alternatives)—to support scalable, secure, and efficient operations.

Current state:
• Legacy systems moved from on-premises hosting to Azure cloud migration in May 2024
• Member portal modernized July 2025
• All IS resources support legacy systems while simultaneously building modernized ones
• Project charter and Software Development Life Cycle established and in practice
• Environment and foundation for modern applications defined and nearing completion

Requirements
• Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile
• Knowledge of business process analysis, functional design principles, documentation standards, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition
• Knowledge of client business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System
• Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points
• Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for client staff to review
• Skill in developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements
• Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog
• Skill in developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows
• Ability to deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects
• Ability to translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software
• Ability to collaborate effectively with client technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers
• Ability to manage multiple development tasks and meet established timelines
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
