Full Stack Developer

Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable services that support high-volume product data workflowsDevelop and enhance backend functionality using Python, Groovy, Java, Spring, and related technologiesContribute to small UI updates and features using ReactJS or other modern JavaScript frameworks as neededParticipate in all-day pair programming across coding, analysis, meetings, and documentationWork in an acceptance test-driven and test-driven development environmentSupport REST-based services and data handling using formats such as JSON and XMLCollaborate with teammates to refactor code, review solutions, and deliver working software consistentlyHelp troubleshoot and improve systems, processes, and deployments Skills Hands-on experience with full stack development in a service-oriented environmentStrong knowledge of Python, Groovy, Java, Spring, and CockroachDBSolid understanding of REST, HTTP, JSON, and XMLExperience with TDD, pair programming, and agile development practicesAbility to communicate clearly, prioritize effectively, and work collaborativelyComfort working with open source tools and modern development workflows such as GitHub and GitHub Actions Preferred Skills Experience with CI/CD, deployment, and configuration management toolsAbility to analyze complex issues and proactively identify solutionsExposure to ReactJS or other JavaScript frameworksScripting and automation skills in shell and at least one language such as Ruby, Perl, or PythonFamiliarity with infrastructure concepts such as networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, and DNSExperience writing user stories and acceptance criteriaSelf-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment Horizontal is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives are welcomed, respected, and valued.
