Job Requisition ID # 26WD99981 Position Overview Autodesk Education Experiences (AEX) helps students, educators, and institutions access Autodesk tools, learning programs, and certifications. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and deliver education-focused product experiences that support teaching and learning across Autodesk platforms. Our team operates like a startup within Autodesk—small, fast-moving, and focused on delivering high-quality products. You’ll work across the product stack, including backend services, integrations, automation, experimentation, and user-facing features. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy taking ownership of customer-facing products from concept to launch and collaborating across disciplines to deliver meaningful user experiences. Main Responsibilities Start strong: you will write production-quality code, maintain and connect systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teammates to deliver education features for Autodesk products. You will help take ideas from early exploration through implementation, launch, and iteration. Typical responsibilities include: Implement backend services APIs, integrations, and product infrastructure that support education product features and platform experiencesMove quickly from prototype to production, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and user impactIntegrate and productize ML/AI solutions in close collaboration with digital experience and platform engineering teamsBuild and maintain automation, plugins or SDKs for CAD platforms (e.g., Fusion, Revit, 3DS Max, Maya), including tooling to support reproducible experiments and product deliveryWork across product and engineering boundaries, including lightweight frontend integration, data pipelines, service orchestration, experimentation tooling, or internal product workflows when neededWork with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerized deployments (Docker), and contribute to observability and reliability of servicesWrite robust, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and design discussions; follow security and data-handling best practicesCollaborate closely with product managers, designers, researchers, frontend engineers, ML engineers, and platform teams to turn ambiguous problems into shipped featuresDocument designs, APIs, runbooks and hand-off materials to product teams, and help onboard other engineers to the codebaseContribute to team culture by sharing knowledge, and promoting reproducible engineering practices Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent)Strong experience with Full-Stack development workflows/processes and front-end familiarity (JavaScript, React/Next.js)Able to utilise AI coding tools for increased velocityExperience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git)Proven ability to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and maintain testable, maintainable codeAbility to work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, researchers, ML engineers, platform engineers, or other technical teams to shipfeaturesStrong debugging, problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a distributed team Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Python and/or C++; experience writing production-quality code and librariesExperience working on CAD or 3D geometry systems (meshes, B-Reps, geometry kernels) or building plugins/automation for CAD platforms (e.g.,.
