One of the world's most iconic gaming and entertainment companies is searching for a Software Engineer to join their Back End Machine Learning team onsite once per month in San Mateo, CA.

This exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of backend engineering and machine learning begins as a 1-year W2 contract engagement based in San Mateo, CA offering competitive benefits and the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment.
Most work will be completed remotely, but candidates must be able to attend meetings in the San Mateo office approximately once per month.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain RESTful Web Service APIs and supporting algorithmsDevelop, train, test, and deploy machine learning models at scaleCollaborate cross-functionally with console, backend, and QA engineering teams to implement and validate new featuresDiagnose and resolve operational issues quickly to maintain high service availabilityContribute to clear technical documentation, system diagrams, and internal knowledge basesOperate within an Agile/Scrum development methodologyExplore and apply emerging technologies to deliver world-class gaming experiences
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience4+ years of hands-on design and programming experience in Java, Python, and/or GolangProven experience building highly scalable, object-oriented web server applications backed by NoSQL data storesHands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or GCPBackground in Machine Learning development and applicationExperience working with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlowFamiliarity with DevOps practices, containerization, and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to Computer Vision, Graphics, and/or Game Engine technologies
