Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and refining deployment pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and automation processes to accelerate release cycles and improve operational stability.
Collaborating closely with product teams, service owners, and infrastructure teams, you will play a key role in modernizing our hybrid cloud environments, which span colocation data centers and multiple cloud providers such as AWS and OCI.
Your efforts will ensure our services meet stringent availability and latency SLAs, while driving system observability, fault isolation, and resilience engineering initiatives.
Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and postmortem analysis.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of Zoom’s infrastructure and contribute to its mission of delivering seamless communication experiences worldwide.

The ideal candidate will possess over 15 years of hands-on experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering within large-scale, production environments.
A strong background in Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems is essential.
You should have proven expertise in operating and designing low-latency, high-throughput backend services at a global scale, with familiarity in media or real-time communication systems such as WebRTC or MMR.
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, routing, DNS, load balancing, and packet capture tools is required.
Experience with colocation data center operations, including hardware provisioning and troubleshooting, is highly desirable.
Proficiency with automation and orchestration tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern CI/CD pipelines is critical.
The role demands excellent problem-solving, debugging, and systems-level design skills.
Flexibility to work across different time zones and occasional weekend hours is necessary, along with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
Responsibilities

Partnering with Meeting DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure teams to modernize hybrid infrastructures, including colocation data centers and public cloud platforms such as AWS and OCI.
Driving initiatives to improve system observability, fault isolation, and resilience engineering, ensuring services meet strict SLAs for availability and latency.
Providing technical mentorship to DevOps engineers, promoting best practices in automation, monitoring, and release engineering.
Championing a culture of data-driven reliability through postmortems, SLIs/SLOs, and ongoing performance optimization.
Engaging in problem-solving, debugging, and designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems that support Zoom’s global infrastructure needs.
Contributing to continuous improvement efforts and supporting the deployment of innovative solutions that enhance overall system robustness and efficiency.
