Description

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Platform Engineer to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role based in Poland. Our client is seeking a Platform Engineer to play a key technical role within a Value Stream squad, supporting the reliability, security and automation of software delivery pipelines and hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role combines DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) disciplines, working closely with software engineers, data engineers and SDETs to ensure applications are secure by design, highly available, performant and deployed through automated, infrastructure-as-code driven processes across Azure, GCP and on-premises environments. The successful candidate will also help drive self-service engineering by providing reusable templates, components and coaching to improve platform maturity and accelerate value delivery. Responsibilities Build, maintain and secure CI/CD pipelines for reliable automated deploymentsDrive infrastructure as code across cloud and on-premises environmentsSupport engineering teams with DevOps best practice, reusable templates and automation improvementsImplement monitoring, alerting and logging to improve reliability and performanceSupport incident management, root cause analysis and preventative actionIdentify opportunities to improve resilience, scalability and cost efficiencyEmbed security controls and testing into delivery pipelines using DevSecOps principlesConduct risk assessments and support security compliance across environmentsCollaborate with technical and governance teams to improve platform capability and operational standards About You Requirements Strong experience in platform engineering, DevOps and SRE within cloud or hybrid environmentsStrong knowledge of cloud-native services and containerised systemsExperience with Azure and ideally GCP, as well as hybrid infrastructure environmentsStrong hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM / Bicep, YAML and infrastructure automationExpertise in CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similarExperience implementing monitoring, logging and alerting using tools such as New Relic or ELKGood understanding of security, threat modelling, risk assessment, and SAST / DAST processesKnowledge of data platforms, orchestration, data warehouses, data lakes and lakehousesStrong understanding of reliability, performance, scalability and cost optimisation in cloud environmentsAbility to coach engineers and promote self-service, automation and continuous improvementStrong communication and stakeholder collaboration skillsMinimum of 4 years’ experience in a relevant DevOps, SRE or platform engineering role About Us We are a business and technology consultancy and one of the UK's leading employers, recruiting the brightest talent to become the innovators of tomorrow.
