As a Senior DevOps Engineer (Salesforce), you will play a key role in designing, implementing and optimising Salesforce DevOps capabilities across Ofgem.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, embedding automation and quality assurance practices, and supporting the delivery of secure, scalable Salesforce solutions.
Working closely with developers, architects, product teams and security specialists, you will help shape how Salesforce services are delivered and operated, ensuring consistency, compliance and reliability at every stage of the software lifecycle.

Job description
You will be responsible for:
Designing, building and maintaining Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO), supporting source-driven and metadata-based deployments.Implementing and optimising automated testing and deployment processes through tools such as ADO Test Plans, BrowserStack and Playwright.Integrating code quality, security and compliance tooling including Salesforce Code Checker and SonarCloud to support high-quality releases.Collaborating with Salesforce developers, administrators, architects and product teams to deliver efficient, reliable and auditable DevOps solutions.Driving continuous improvement across DevOps tooling, processes and automation frameworks.Championing modern engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code, Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.Supporting the resolution of complex deployment, release and service issues across Salesforce environments.Ensuring Salesforce delivery aligns with Ofgem's cloud engineering, governance and security standards.Contributing to technical communities of practice, sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues to build capability across the organisation.Monitoring and improving platform reliability, delivery velocity and operational performance.
We are looking for:
A highly capable DevOps engineer with strong Salesforce platform experience and a passion for automation, engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
You will be comfortable working across multiple technical teams and balancing delivery demands with governance, security and operational requirements.
You will demonstrate:
Significant experience delivering and supporting enterprise-scale DevOps tooling, infrastructure and deployment pipelines.Proven experience implementing and maintaining Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, automation, release management and cloud-based delivery practices.Experience integrating automated testing, quality assurance and code analysis tools, including Salesforce Code Checker, BrowserStack, Playwright or comparable technologies.The ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable automation and deployment solutions.Experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, influencing technical decisions and driving best practice adoption.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex deployment and service issues.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (or the ability to obtain within six months of appointment) are expected.
Experience supporting Salesforce deployments within government, regulated or enterprise-scale environments, particularly those involving complex integrations, would be advantageous.

Essential Criteria
Demonstrable senior practitioner experience delivering and maintaining enterprise-scale DevOps pipelines and infrastructure.
(Lead Criteria)Proven experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using Azure DevOps (ADO).
(Lead Criteria)Strong ability to engage with stakeholders, translate requirements into automation and infrastructure solutions, and influence across teams.Experience integrating automated testing and code quality tools (Code Checker, BrowserStack, Playwright and SonarCloud.
Holds or can obtain the following certifications or equivalent within 6 months:
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert.
Desirable Criteria
Experience supporting Salesforce deployments in public sector or enterprise-scale environments with cross-platform integrations.
