Description

Salesforce Developer – Mid-Level OpenNova is partnering with a growing organization that is expanding its Salesforce platform and technology capabilities. We are looking for a Mid-Level Salesforce Developer who can design, build, and support scalable solutions across the Salesforce ecosystem. This is a strong fit for someone who is equally comfortable working in Apex and Lightning Web Components as they are with Salesforce Flows, configuration, data modeling, and platform automation. You should understand when custom development is necessary, when Salesforce's declarative capabilities are the better option, and how to build solutions that remain maintainable as the environment grows. What You Will Be Responsible For Salesforce Development & Configuration Design, develop, and support Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce APIs, and core platform capabilities. Build and maintain declarative solutions including Flows, validation rules, approval processes, dynamic forms, and page layouts. Evaluate business and technical requirements to determine the right balance between declarative and programmatic development. Develop scalable, bulkified solutions that follow Salesforce governor limits and platform best practices. Troubleshoot existing Salesforce functionality and identify opportunities for optimization, refactoring, and technical debt reduction. Data, Security & Platform Design Design and support Salesforce data models, object relationships, and data integrity practices. Configure and maintain Salesforce security and sharing models, including profiles, permission sets, roles, and field-level security. Work closely with Salesforce administrators, architects, and engineering leadership to ensure development aligns with broader platform standards and governance. Help maintain a Salesforce environment that is secure, scalable, and supportable over the long term. Integrations & Automation Develop and support integrations between Salesforce and external applications using REST and SOAP APIs. Contribute to event-driven and integration-based solutions where appropriate. Build automation strategies that reduce duplication, prevent conflicts, and limit long-term maintenance overhead. Partner with architects and senior developers on integration architecture and automation decisions. Experience Cloud Support Experience Cloud implementations and enhancements when applicable. Develop Apex and Lightning Web Components supporting portal functionality, security, usability, and performance. Experience Cloud knowledge is valuable, but deep specialization is not required. Quality, Delivery & Collaboration Participate in code reviews, unit testing, peer feedback, and technical design discussions. Support Salesforce deployments, release planning, environment management, and post-deployment validation. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments. Participate in Agile delivery activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives. Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams to translate requirements into practical Salesforce solutions. Skills And Experience That Will Make You Successful 3–5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience. Strong proficiency with Apex and Lightning Web Components. Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, platform architecture, and governor limits. Experience with Salesforce declarative capabilities including Flows, validation rules, security configuration, and platform automation. Experience working across Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or similar Salesforce environments. Experience designing and delivering maintainable Salesforce solutions with limited supervision. Experience developing or supporting Salesforce integrations using APIs. Understanding of Salesforce security, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and field-level security. Experience working in an Agile or iterative development environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with developers, administrators, architects, and business stakeholders. Setting Yourself Apart From the Competition Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I or Salesforce Administrator. Experience with Experience Cloud. Experience with middleware or more complex Salesforce integration environments. Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps tooling, release automation, or Salesforce deployment tools. Consulting or client-facing experience across multiple business use cases. Experience working across both declarative and programmatic Salesforce solutions rather than operating exclusively as a developer or administrator. The Type of Person Who Will Do Well Here This role is best suited for a Salesforce developer who is technically strong but practical. You should be comfortable owning development work independently while still collaborating with architects, senior developers, administrators, and business stakeholders. The environment is evolving, so the right person will be comfortable working across different areas of Salesforce rather than staying inside a narrowly defined lane. You should be able to understand a business problem, determine the right Salesforce approach, build it cleanly, and support it after release.
