Position Summary:
Seeking a Staff AWS Observability Consultant with 5+ years of hands-on experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
The consultant will act as an embedded AWS SME, delivering enterprise automation, observability solutions, operational runbooks, and audit-ready documentation within regulated Financial Services environments.
Main Responsibilities:
Design and implement AWS observability and monitoring using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS X-Ray, and OpenTelemetry.Manage EKS, ECS, and Fargate monitoring, including Kubernetes observability and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry (ADOT).Build Infrastructure-as-Code and automation using Terraform/CloudFormation, Python/Bash, EventBridge, Systems Manager, Step Functions, SNS/SQS.Develop and support CI/CD and GitOps workflows using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and GitHub Actions.Implement secure monitoring solutions using IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, VPC, and PrivateLink.Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, networking, logs, metrics, and distributed tracing across AWS environments.Create operational runbooks, architecture/design documents, ADRs, threat models, and audit/validation evidence.Support financial-services compliance, risk governance, operational resilience, RTO/RPO, and disaster recovery requirements.Work closely with engineering, security, SRE, operations, data, and platform teams as an embedded technical SME.Key Skills: AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry/ADOT, CloudWatch, X-Ray, Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, GitOps, Python/Bash, IAM, and Financial Services compliance.
Preferred Certifications: AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate, and/or CKA.
