Your Role We are looking for a System Engineer to join our RailX team, where you will contribute to the implementation, integration, automation and maintenance of system platforms supporting our software solutions for the public transport sector, with a focus on rail. In this role, you will work with a wide range of technologies and collaborate closely with development teams, architects and customers to ensure reliable and efficient system solutions. You will gain a deep understanding of how individual technologies interact within complex software environments and support their successful integration with external systems and customer infrastructures. Key Tasks Design, implement and maintain automation and infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code and related technologiesIntegrate and support technical solutions across development, test and customer environmentsMaintain and continuously improve shared development and integration platforms used by RailX teamsSupport Agile teams and stakeholders in delivering reliable and scalable solutionsSupport customer deployments, test integrations and internal infrastructure environmentsContribute to IMS and Kubernetes/OpenShift harmonization activities across productsCreate and maintain engineering documentationCollaborate on product readiness, release activities and continuous improvement initiativesTroubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis and prioritize corrective actionsCooperate with development teams, suppliers and competence centers to drive platform and architecture improvements Key Qualifications Technical Skills & Competencies Experience with Linux administration (RPM-based distributions)Knowledge of Kubernetes environments, preferably OpenShiftExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and AnsibleKnowledge of Git and HelmUnderstanding of SQL and NoSQL databasesFamiliarity with cloud-native architectures, containers and microservicesScripting skills in Bash and/or PythonStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsExperience working in Agile and cross-functional environments Skills Considered An Advantage Experience with Jenkins and Argo CDKnowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and LokiBasic networking and network security knowledgeExperience with JiraKnowledge of Scrum or SAFe methodologiesExperience with virtualization platforms such as ESXi or KVM Employee Requirements Minimum achieved education secondary school with an A-Levels equivalent Education in the field Information Technology, Telecommunications Language Skills English - Advanced (C1) Personality Requirements And Skills Self-driven and comfortable working in a highly autonomous environmentAbility to develop and implement technical solutions independentlyStrong collaboration and communication skills when working with customers, partners and internal stakeholdersAbility to work effectively in Agile, cross-functional and international teamsStrong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causesStructured and detail-oriented approach to engineering documentation Our Values Around 2,600 employees are committed to creating a safer world with their innovative strength and technology orientation.
