Highlights
Senior frontend role in an innovative environment focused on next-generation user interfaces and emerging technologies.
Description
THE COMPANY
Lumion is redefining how architecture is communicated in the era of AI, from early concepts to final presentations.
Our expanding portfolio helps architects, designers, and visualisation professionals communicate ideas with speed, clarity, and emotion, while making it easier for teams and stakeholders to collaborate around design.
We’re a passionate, international team of developers, designers, architects, and visualisation specialists looking to define how the AEC space collaborates on bringing design concepts to life.
With a team across our Netherlands HQ, Denmark, Poland and a globally distributed remote workforce, we are at an exciting inflection point: new leadership, a growing product portfolio, and a market being rapidly reshaped by AI.
The convergence of 3D rendering, real-time engines, and generative AI is accelerating, and we intend to lead it.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to architect the next generation of our application UI.
You will be instrumental in migrating our interface to a modern, web-based stack (React, TypeScript) integrated via Coherent Gameface.
This is not a standard web-app role; you will work at the intersection of web technology and high-performance game engine architecture.
You will define our design system, establish foundational patterns for our component library, and lead the incremental migration strategy that replaces our legacy UI while ensuring seamless product delivery and architectural integrity.
WHAT YOU BRING
Expert-level proficiency in React and TypeScript, with a proven ability to architect clean, scalable, and type-safe component libraries, including proven usage with styling (e.g., HTML5, CSS, animations) and experience with web build tools (e.g., Webpack).Experience working in embedded or game-engine environments (e.g., Coherent Gameface, CEF, or similar) where optimizing for resource constraints and understanding the native-to-web bridge is critical.A strong track record of managing complex incremental migrations, successfully balancing the delivery of new features with the systematic deprecation and replacement of legacy code.Deep architectural judgment; you understand the trade-offs between different state management patterns and know how to design interfaces that remain maintainable as the codebase grows.Ability to collaborate effectively with both design and engine teams to ensure the UI is performant, responsive, and visually cohesive, with a strong passion for building beautiful interfaces and working closely with designers to create exceptional experiences for our users.
CORE COMPETENCIES
UI Architecture: Designing decoupled, modular, and testable systems.Bridge Design: Experience defining robust, type-safe contracts/interfaces between native C++ systems and the frontend environment.Performance Profiling: Skill in identifying and resolving bottlenecks in rendering and interaction within game-integrated environments.Migration Strategy: Proven ability to define and execute "strangler pattern" refactoring paths without disrupting ongoing product development.Technical Communication: Ability to translate complex engine requirements into clean, usable frontend patterns.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF
You are excited by the challenge of bridging the gap between web-standard development and the high-performance constraints of a 3D rendering engine. You value "Process, Not Outcome" – you enjoy building the systems and documentation that allow the entire team to move faster. You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment where you influence both the UI and the underlying bridge logic that connects to the engine. You want to define the future of AEC software, where 3D rendering, real-time engines, and generative AI converge.
