Software Engineer

An innovative organisation in the scientific research and development space is looking for a Software Engineer. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team to design, develop, and maintain code for a radio interferometer data reduction and analysis pipeline used for international astronomical research. What You'll Be Doing Designing and developing software for telescope data processing across the full engineering lifecycle.Formulating complex technical solutions from broad scientific objectives for operational deployment.Improving quality assurance processes and common pipeline infrastructure.Maintaining a Python-based infrastructure that drives data calibration and imaging heuristics.Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to support major sensitivity upgrades. What We're Looking For A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.A minimum of three years of experience in the development of software applications.Strong proficiency in Python and software engineering domain knowledge.The ability to understand basic scientific concepts related to radio interferometry.Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a research environment.
