Summary We're looking for a UI-focused Software Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team and help build the next generation of renewable energy software. You'll develop modern React applications, create intuitive user experiences, and build data-rich dashboards that support real engineering decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys front-end development but also wants exposure to back-end technologies, AI-assisted development, and full-stack engineering over time. Responsibilities Design and develop modern, responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScriptBuild reusable UI components, dashboards, forms, and data visualizationsTranslate product requirements into scalable, maintainable codeCollaborate with product managers, designers, and software engineers in an agile environmentIntegrate front-end applications with Node.js APIs and Python-based servicesDebug application issues and improve performance, usability, and accessibilityContribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiativesUtilize AI-assisted development tools while applying sound engineering principles Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Approximately 2+ years of professional software development experienceStrong experience with ReactProficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSSExperience building production web applicationsFamiliarity with Git, pull requests, testing, and modern development workflowsStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsSelf-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment Nice to Have Experience with Python or Node.jsExperience working with REST APIsFamiliarity with PostgreSQL or SQL databasesExperience with authentication, UI forms, and testing frameworksExperience building dashboards, analytics platforms, or data visualization toolsFamiliarity with D3, Plotly, MUI X Charts, or similar visualization librariesExperience in renewable energy, engineering software, or AI-enabled applications Why Join BrightNight?
