A software organization is rebuilding its core platform and looking for a senior frontend developer to lead user interface development while contributing to architecture and backend collaboration.
Highlights
Influence technology choices, shape product direction, and work on innovative software used globally.
Description
We are rebuilding our core platform from scratch and looking for a senior frontend developer who wants real influence over the tech, not just the tickets.
Join us in building the next generation of WindSim Accelerator – software for the wind energy industry, used by leading players in over 50 countries.
## About WindSim
WindSim is an established provider of CFD-based wind analysis for the global wind energy industry.
We are currently rebuilding our core platform, Accelerator, from the ground up.
Our team consists of meteorologists, physicists, developers, and commercial staff working closely together.
Office in Oslo.
## About the role
You will be a key developer on the product team with responsibility for the frontend, but you will also be expected to get familiar with and work on the API layer.
This is a chance to influence technology choices, architecture, and product direction at a company in an exciting phase.
## Technology
The frontend is written in Angular, with modern TypeScript.
The backend is written in Rust (Axum, sqlx, tokio).
We are in a transition phase from legacy code in C# and Fortran, so there's opportunity to make critical technology decisions on both frontend and backend.
We also integrate a range of third-party tools and services where it makes sense – GIS (ArcGIS), map and terrain data, 3D visualization, and various data and analytics platforms.
You will work on leveraging strong external components where it is right to do so, and building in-house where that is the better call.
## What you will work on
- Building the frontend and user experience for Accelerator
- Designing and implementing APIs and services in Rust
- Integrating with third-party services for GIS, visualization, and data
- Collaborating closely with the backend, CFD, and product teams
- Contributing across the full development cycle: idea, design, development, operations, and improvement
- Participating in architecture and technology decisions
## Who we are looking for
- Strong on frontend (TypeScript, modern frameworks), preferably Angular.
- Experience with a statically typed backend language is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for working in an environment where you both get to build new things and clean up old ones.
- A desire to work broadly across a lot of different technology.
- Master's degree or higher education.
It is a plus if you have experience with cloud platforms, on-prem deployment, GIS/ArcGIS, 3D visualization, or domains such as CFD, simulation, or energy – but it is not a requirement.
A valid Norwegian work/residence permit is required.
## What we offer
- Real influence on technology and product at a critical stage
- International team with high competence
## How to apply
Apply via LinkedIn with your CV and a cover letter.
Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
