The Role We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join Cavtera’s growing development team. As a Senior Software Developer, you’ll be a technical leader within an engagement team, responsible for the architecture and delivery of complex digital solutions on Palantir Foundry. You’ll balance high-level system design with hands-on development, client-facing technical leadership, and mentorship of other developers. We’re looking for someone with approximately 5-8 years of professional software development experience who is comfortable taking technical ownership of complex engagements. You’ll help set the technical direction of the team, make architecture decisions, work directly with client stakeholders and executives, and ensure the solutions we build are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous operational problems, designing systems rather than just individual features, and helping other developers become stronger engineers. What You'll Do Lead system architecture: Own the technical design of complex client engagements, ensuring solutions are modular, performant, maintainable, and scalable.Set the standard for data engineering: Design and optimize complex SQL, Python, and TypeScript data models and pipelines, while establishing strong practices around pipeline health and reliability.Own ontology architecture: Guide the design and long-term health of Object Types, Links, and Actions so the client’s digital model accurately reflects complex business operations.Lead cross-stack technical strategy: Shape the architecture of Foundry, OSDK, web, and mobile applications, including reliable bi-directional data flow for field operations.Lead strategic discovery: Work directly with clients on-site to understand complex operational challenges, identify high-value opportunities, and surface technical risks early.Act as a technical advisor: Partner with client stakeholders and executives to translate long-term business objectives into practical technical roadmaps.Validate solutions before deployment: Ensure solutions meet high standards for technical quality, field usability, reliability, and architectural integrity before they reach end users.Mentor other developers: Support intermediate and junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, architecture guidance, and hands-on technical mentorship.Establish engineering standards: Help create and refine Cavtera’s technical SOPs, modular design patterns, and internal engineering guides.Drive code quality: Set and uphold architectural patterns and coding standards across the engagement team to support long-term maintainability. What We're Looking For 5-8 years of professional software development experience.Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, and SQL.Deep knowledge of database design, data modelling, and system integration.Experience designing and delivering complex production systems.Strong architectural judgment, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and design for scalability and maintainability.Experience leading technical work across multiple developers or a project team.Strong problem-solving skills — you are comfortable taking ambiguous business or operational problems and turning them into structured technical solutions.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences and senior stakeholders.Experience mentoring developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.A high degree of autonomy and comfort making consequential technical decisions.Willingness to periodically travel to client sites for discovery, implementation, and technical leadership. Nice To Have Experience with Palantir Foundry or another enterprise data/application platform.Strong full-stack development experience.Experience with React, React Native, or other modern web/mobile frameworks.Experience designing large or complex data pipelines.Experience with ontology-driven or domain-driven system design.Experience leading technical discovery or architecture workshops with clients.Experience working directly with executives or senior business stakeholders.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience establishing engineering standards, reusable design patterns, or development practices across a team.Experience with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.Proficiency in Python. Salary Range $120,000 – $150,000 CAD Compensation is commensurate with experience. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s specific skills, technical proficiency, and relevant industry experience.
