The Team & Mission The team you would be part of builds and maintains the foundational application driving high-stakes financial market transactions. We are taking on an exciting engineering challenge: maintaining the operational excellence of the current Synon/CA-2E application while actively re-architecting it into a modular, microservices-based system using IBM RPG (Full Free), REST APIs, and modern CI/CD practices. How You’ll Make an Impact Drive Architecture Forward: Lead the modernization journey from Synon/CA-2E to modern, microservices-based RPG (Full Free) and REST API solutions.Build & Innovate: Enhance core financial applications, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and performance across the IBM Power Series environment.Automate & Modernize: Help mature our continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using TD/OMS and modern engineering workflows.Lift Others Up: Mentor team members, share technical insights, and foster an environment where diverse perspectives and new ideas are welcomed.Bridge Tech and Business: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, and financial market experts to turn complex business needs into clean, testable code.Own Quality: Advocate for software craftsmanship, participating in constructive code reviews and building systems with security and resilience by design. What You Bring Core Technical Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with IBM RPG (Full Free) and development experience in Synon/CA-2E.Modern Integration: Solid understanding of REST APIs—designing, building, and consuming them within RPG environments.DevOps Practices: Experience with TD/OMS or similar change management tools on IBM Power Series.Communication & Collaboration: Strong command of English (spoken and written) and a collaborative mindset—you enjoy working across multidisciplinary teams and making complex topics accessible.Problem-Solving Mindset: A curious, analytical approach to software development, with a genuine interest in modernizing legacy environments.
