Description

Initial 6 month assignment Part time work, remote/WFH setupImmediate start Green Light are working with an technology partner to deliver BAU and project support of a cloud environment, AWS, OpenShift & Terraform initially over the next 6 months, with the view to extend after the project has been delivered. The role will be WFH/remote work for a Senior Cloud Engineer who is happy to work three (3) days a week. Responsibilities: Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS and OpenShift environments.Develop, manage and optimise Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to support automated deployment and operational consistency.Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable automated application delivery, platform provisioning and environment management.Collaborate with development, security and architecture teams to implement cloud-native solutions and platform best practices.Monitor platform health, performance and security across AWS and OpenShift environments, proactively identifying and resolving issues.Implement and maintain cloud governance, cost optimisation, backup, disaster recovery and operational resilience strategies.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking and container platform issues across multiple environments.Document platform architectures, deployment processes, operational procedures and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOps roles within enterprise environments.Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS cloud services including EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, Route 53, Load Balancers and CloudWatch.Demonstrated expertise in OpenShift administration, container orchestration and Kubernetes-based platform management.Advanced experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and automation.Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices, including Git-based workflows and automated deployment pipelines.Experience implementing cloud security controls, identity and access management, monitoring and compliance frameworks.Solid understanding of Linux system administration, networking concepts and troubleshooting in cloud-native environments.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.Relevant AWS, OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are highly regarded.
