Job Purpose The Senior Cloud Engineer – GCP will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role requires strong hands-on expertise across GCP infrastructure, Kubernetes, Terraform, networking, security, and systems administration. The successful candidate will take ownership of cloud environments, proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues, and ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of business-critical workloads. The role requires a highly independent and technically strong engineer who can contribute immediately to complex cloud initiatives and production environments. Key Responsibilities Design, provision, configure, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Manage GCP Compute Engine and related services, including virtual machines, instance configurations, disks, images, load balancing, and compute resources. Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform, following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices. Develop, maintain, and optimize Terraform modules and automated infrastructure provisioning processes. Deploy, operate, scale, upgrade, and troubleshoot Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters and workloads. Manage Kubernetes resources, networking, storage, deployments, scaling, and cluster-level configurations.Monitor GKE and cloud environments to ensure availability, performance, capacity, and operational stability. Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows Server environments supporting cloud workloads. Design and manage cloud networking components, including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity. Implement and manage GCP IAM, service accounts, roles, permissions, and security controls. Apply cloud security best practices to infrastructure, workloads, identities, and network configurations.Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards across cloud environments.Design and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to support business continuity.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, operating system, and production issues.Participate in incident management and provide timely resolution of critical production incidents.Conduct root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurring incidents.Support cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, and optimization initiatives.Perform capacity planning and resource optimization to improve cloud performance and cost efficiency.Ensure infrastructure configurations and operational processes comply with established security and governance standards.Document infrastructure architecture, configurations, procedures, and operational processes.Collaborate with DevOps, Software Engineering, Security, Data, and other technical teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong knowledge of GCP Compute Engine and associated infrastructure services. Proven experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. Hands-on experience managing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) in production environments. Strong Linux and Windows Server administration experience.Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex cloud infrastructure environments.Good understanding of cloud architecture principles, high availability, scalability, resilience, and operational best practices.
