Test Automation Engineer

About The Role In real-money poker, a bug isn't a cosmetic glitch; it's a missing or incorrect payout, a stalled tournament that has to be cancelled with hundreds of unhappy players, or a breach of the regulations we operate under. We're looking for a Test Automation Engineer who owns quality across this stack. Someone who can reason about pots, side pots, and rake as confidently as about the loyalty system and promotional prize payouts, and who believes the point of a test suite isn't to prove code works, but to let the team keep changing it without fear. You won't be a gatekeeper at the end of the line. You'll be embedded with the server engineers, building the automated safety net that lets us ship changes to a live gaming platform with confidence. Key responsibilities Design and own the automated test strategy across the server stack: unit, integration, end-to-end and regressionGrow and maintain CI/CD test coverageHunt down edge casesDefine quality gates and metricsPartner with developers earlyTriage, reproduce, and clearly document defects What we are looking for To Succeed In This Role, We Believe You Have Proven experience in QA automation for backend / distributed systems, ideally in a domain where correctness really matters (gaming, fintech, payments, trading, betting).Strong Python for writing test harnesses and simulations; comfortable reading and navigating a Java codebase to understand and test it.Hands-on experience testing message-driven / asynchronous systems: RabbitMQ/AMQP or similar (Kafka, SQS).Confident writing SQL and validating state across relational and NoSQL stores (**MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis**).Practical experience with Docker / Docker Compose for spinning up multi-service test environments. Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD (Jenkins or Bitbucket pipelines) and keeping pipelines green and fast. A rigorous, detail-oriented mindset.Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Copilot) day-to-day to accelerate test authoring, reproduction and triage, and honest about their limits.Interested in applying AI to generate and prioritise test cases, and expand coverage of edge cases. Nice to have It would be an advantage if you also have: Domain knowledge of poker / real-money gaming rules, or a genuine eagerness to learn them deeply. Why join us?
