About the Opportunity The DataOps Engineer plays a key role in building, operating, and modernizing a cloud-based data platform. This position supports data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics workloads while collaborating with Data Management, IT Infrastructure, and Security teams. The role contributes to the platform’s scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency while supporting critical initiatives involving analytics, data products, and innovation. Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain data infrastructure supporting ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics workloads. • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across data platform environments. • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot technical issues, and support incident response and root cause analysis. • Architect and implement secure AWS environments following cloud security best practices. • Manage IAM roles and policies, network security, encryption, and related access controls. • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to support data governance and regulatory requirements. • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform. • Build and support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and platform deployments. • Standardize environments to promote consistency across Data Management teams. • Partner with Data Engineers to operationalize data pipelines and workflows. • Provide guidance on platform usage, engineering best practices, and operational readiness. • Participate in technical design discussions and architectural reviews. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DataOps, DevOps, or a related field. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. • Proven experience architecting and operating AWS-based data or analytics platforms. • Strong knowledge of AWS services related to networking, compute, storage, and security. • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform preferred. • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with Bitbucket experience preferred. • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and enterprise integration patterns. • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance requirements in cloud environments. • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with cloud technologies. • Ability to manage multiple initiatives strategically and tactically. • Self-motivated and collaborative, with ownership of systems throughout their lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting large-scale data engineering teams. • Experience with AI/ML workloads on AWS. • Experience mentoring or leading DataOps or platform engineers. • Familiarity with AWS cost optimization and FinOps practices.
