Senior Backend Developer & Team Lead

We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer & Team Lead to combine hands-on backend engineering with technical and team leadership. You'll help shape the technical direction of our backend systems while leading and mentoring the team behind them. From architecture and development to project organization and code quality, you'll play a key role in building scalable solutions and helping the team deliver them effectively. What You'll Do Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, conduct code reviews, and promote high engineering standards and continuous learningDesign, build, and optimize robust backend services and APIs using PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or similar) or GoDrive architectural decisions and help define the technical direction, tools, and approaches behind our backend systemsCollaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate complex product requirements into clear, actionable technical tasksOrganize and support sprint execution, ensuring effective delivery while actively managing technical debtEnsure backend systems are scalable, secure, maintainable, and built according to strong engineering practicesWork closely with Frontend, QA, and DevSecOps teams to ensure smooth integration, testing, and deployment What We Expect 5+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily using PHP or GoProven experience leading a development team, technical projects, or working in a Tech Lead or similar leadership capacityStrong understanding of software architecture, RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, microservices, and relational and NoSQL databasesStrong understanding of Agile development practices, Git, and modern CI/CD pipelinesExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersFluent English, both written and spoken NICE TO HAVE Professional experience with both PHP and GoExperience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel or SymfonyExperience acting in a Scrum Master capacity alongside technical leadership WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE Our office is a drone testing playground, and every day starts with an idea no one has tried before.
