About TrueNorth
TrueNorth is building the world's first agentic brokerage: the intelligence layer on top of headless liquidity across TradFi and crypto.
On TrueNorth, anyone can own a fleet of AI agents working around the clock across their trading, investing, and wealth management.
Our mission is to make the institutional edge and access available to everyone.
We are a team from Temasek, Goldman Sachs, Meta, Tesla, and McKinsey, spanning frontier AI and global markets.
Our founders are serial entrepreneurs: founding partner and operator of two AI chip decacorns that went public, and acting CEO and COO of a leading crypto exchange.
Backed by leading investors, we are live, revenue-generating, and growing fast.
About the role
You will own the frontend of two products across web and mobile: a co-pilot for trading, think Cursor for traders but highly visual and interactive, and an agentic experience where users manage their trading and investments through messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp.
The interface is where a trader decides whether to trust an agent with their money: it must make markets legible, expose what the system is doing, separate proposed actions from completed ones, and stay reliable when models, venues, or data feeds fail.
This role is for an AI-native engineer with the fundamentals to back it up: you ship at agentic speed, and you know exactly what good code quality and system design look like.
What you'll do
Build and own core product surfaces across web and mobile, from research, charting, and watchlists to portfolios, order entry, and live agent activity.
Build the agentic experience in Telegram and WhatsApp, from conversational flows to platform-native controls, structured responses, notifications, approvals, and account linking.
Build the agent execution experience: streamed responses, plans, tool calls, approval checkpoints, progress, errors, retries, and recovery.
Design trust into financial workflows, clearly separating analysis, proposals, approvals, submitted orders, fills, and reconciled portfolio state.
Craft high-performance trading interfaces: real-time rendering over WebSockets and streaming market data with strict latency, memory, and frame-rate budgets.
Own Next.js architecture on Vercel, including Server and Client Component boundaries, streaming, caching, and bundle behavior.
Turn product and design concepts directly into shipped PRs, owning interaction, layout, motion, edge cases, and final polish.
Work closely with backend on API contracts, event models, and failure modes, designing resilient states for stale data, disconnections, exchange outages, rejected orders, and delayed fills.
Build and maintain the component system with Tailwind and shared design tokens, and instrument the product with analytics, feature flags, and experiments.
What you bring
An AI-native, agentic development workflow grounded in solid engineering experience: you move fast with coding agents because you provide constraints, inspect output, verify visually and functionally, and keep the architecture consistent.
Expert-level React, TypeScript, and modern Next.js across web and mobile, including React Native or a comparable cross-platform stack.
Deep knowledge of rendering performance, including reconciliation, memoization, virtualization, and profiling production bottlenecks.
Experience shipping data-dense, real-time interfaces such as trading, analytics, or monitoring products, with charting via TradingView libraries, D3, or custom Canvas/WebGL rendering.
Strong design sense: you know what great trading UI/UX looks like, can take a product or design concept straight to a polished PR, and work closely with product design to bring it to life.
Strong command of state management, data fetching, and WebSocket handling, and fluency in how frontends interact with backend services: typed API contracts, caching and invalidation, optimistic updates, retries, and graceful degradation.
Hands-on experience integrating LLM-powered features into production interfaces.
Good to have
7+ years of frontend engineering experience.
Experience building order entry, positions, or portfolio interfaces for a trading or brokerage product.
Native iOS or Android development experience.
Experience with PostHog or a comparable product analytics and experimentation platform.
Familiarity with crypto, equities, derivatives, market structure, or exchange APIs.
Motion design sensibility, with micro-interactions that inform rather than decorate.
Prior experience as a lead, staff, or founding engineer, or a design-engineer hybrid background.
