About the Project · Client Lifecycle Marketing Technology team has built an AI-enabled email development platform to support our growing global communications. · We are seeking an experienced Email Developer to take ownership of this tool. You will own the roadmap & strategic decision making to optimize this tool in order to scale HTML capabilities and increase the production quality of our emails. · This is a hands-on development role, working closely with our designers and marketing technology team. · You will be the primary technical owner of our email infrastructure for the duration of this engagement. What You'll Do - AI Enabled HTML Development · Work with MarTech, Design, and Engineering to build a production ready system that is capable of translating figma designs into email HTML for Iterable and Hubspot. · Architect and build a modular component library (header, footer, CTA blocks, content modules, image blocks) using MJML or HTML as the source framework · Ensure system is able to properly handle multiple Marketing Automation Tools: Iterable (Handlebars merge tags) and HubSpot (HubL + fields.json) · Establish QA workflow process to ensure emails properly render across major ESPs (Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook (2016–2021+), iOS Mail, and Samsung Mail) · Meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements: semantic HTML, role attributes, sufficient contrast ratios · Create developer documentation, component usage guides, and conduct a 1-hour team training session · Depending on project progress and business needs, this engagement may extend to cover: · Localized template variants for Korea (KR), Japan (JP), Germany (DE), and France (FR) · CJK-specific font stacks, line-height adjustments, and text expansion accommodations · Personalization layout support enabling templates to handle dynamic content across content blocks, images, and themes based on user attributes · Localization QA workflow and market-specific rendering validation Must-Haves · 6–8+ years of email development experience · Deep expertise in HTML/CSS email development and MJML · Production experience with Iterable and/or HubSpot · Demonstrated experience building and maintaining email component libraries or design systems · Strong understanding of email rendering across major clients, especially Outlook · Experience with dark mode implementation · Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work within a structured timeline · Strong written communication for documentation and async collaboration · Nice-to-Haves · Experience with CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) localization in email · Familiarity with Figma and design-to-code workflows · Background in lifecycle or product marketing email programs · Prior experience work with AI or AI tooling
