Backend Engineer Remote in Poland B2B contract Role Summary We are looking for a Backend Engineer to build resilient, cloud-native services powering customer-facing and store-operational applications, within a distributed, output-based delivery team. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend services and APIsBuild and maintain event-driven, microservices-based systems on GCPOwn data modelling and persistence across relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL/analytical stores (Firestore, BigQuery)Implement caching strategies (Memorystore) and edge/security configurations (Cloudflare)Maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (GitHub Actions, Terraform)Support cloud migration and modernisation initiativesEnsure observability, monitoring, and production support in line with agreed SLAsCollaborate with frontend engineers, QA, and product/engineering leads within a cross-functional squad Required Tech Stack Languages: TypeScript, Node.js; Go (working knowledge)Cloud & Infrastructure: GCP — Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GCSData: PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Firestore / MongoDB AtlasCaching: MemorystoreCDN / Security: CloudflareCI/CD & IaC: GitHub Actions, TerraformTesting: Jest, VitestExperience & Qualifications 4–8 years backend engineering experience, ideally with retail/e-commerce systemsStrong grounding in microservices, API design, and event-driven patterns (Pub/Sub or equivalent)Experience with cloud migrations and modernisation of legacy systems is a strong plusFamiliarity with distributed/nearshore delivery modelsStrong written and spoken English for cross-team collaboration 🔗 Let's Connect 💬 DM me on LinkedIn to explore this opportunity. 📧 Send your updated CV to: chethan.as@intelligenzit.com
