Description

About Our Client The organization operates in the machine learning software and agricultural technology sector, addressing challenges related to optimizing regenerative agricultural practices, improving crop yields, and reducing operational costs for producers. Its platform applies machine learning to measure, verify, and register sustainable agricultural practices and environmental asset credits. The organization supports growers, ranchers, and corporate buyers focused on sustainability, environmental stewardship, and carbon neutrality. About the Opportunity The AI Software Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating AI-enabled services that power the organization’s core platform. This position combines applied AI engineering with production software development to create scalable and reliable systems that enhance platform capabilities. The role advances the organization’s mission by delivering AI-driven workflows and infrastructure that support accurate, auditable environmental, agricultural, and geospatial data processing. Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain large language model-powered and agent-based workflows using technologies such as LangGraph, LangChain, and AWS Bedrock AgentCore. • Develop and productionize AI and machine learning services in Python, including multi-model architectures such as Mixture-of-Experts. • Build and extend backend services and APIs using Django, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS. • Develop front-end features and internal tools using TypeScript and Vue.js to deliver AI capabilities and analytics. • Develop data processing pipelines for large volumes of geospatial, agronomic, imagery, and third-party data. • Integrate with external partner and customer APIs while managing authentication, rate limiting, and error handling. • Deploy, scale, and operate services on AWS using managed compute, storage, and serverless solutions. • Design and execute quality assurance and quality control processes for software, data, and model outputs. • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning. • Collaborate with data scientists, agronomists, and product stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into production-ready systems. Requirements • 2 to 5 years of professional software development experience delivering production systems. • Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with modern frameworks, testing, and package development. • Experience building applications or services that use large language models or other machine learning models in production. • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including schema design and query optimization. • Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs. • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and software delivery practices including version control, CI/CD, and automated testing. • Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems and communicate technical trade-offs clearly. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Pay Range and Compensation Package • Base salary range of $115,000 to $145,000 per year. Equal Opportunity Statement Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
