Full Stack Developer

Role Description: We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to design, develop and support modern web applications across frontend, backend, database and cloud-native environments. The role requires strong commercial experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Java and Spring Boot, together with practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and RESTful API development. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing responsive user interfaces, building and maintaining backend services, designing APIs, integrating applications with internal and third-party platforms, and managing application data within PostgreSQL. The successful candidate will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, code reviews, deployment, troubleshooting and production support. The role also involves containerising applications, supporting Kubernetes deployments, maintaining technical documentation, resolving application defects, and collaborating with clients, developers and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions. Qualifications Minimum 4–5 years’ commercial experience in a Full-Stack Developer, Software Engineer, Application Developer or similar development role.Strong command of modern JavaScript ES6+, with demonstrated production experience developing applications using Angular, including components, services, dependency injection, RxJS observables and Angular CLI.Working knowledge of React, including functional components, hooks, component lifecycle, state management and the ability to move between Angular and React codebases.Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including the development of strongly typed interfaces, reusable components and maintainable data contracts.Solid commercial experience developing backend applications and RESTful services using Java and Spring Boot, including dependency injection, Spring Data, Spring Security and application configuration.Experience using Maven for build automation, dependency management, testing and multi-module project structures.Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including relational schema design, normalisation, SQL development, query optimisation, indexing, migrations, backup and recovery, and performance troubleshooting.Sound working knowledge of Linux, including command-line administration, file systems, permissions, networking, process and service management, shell scripting and log analysis.Hands-on experience with Docker, including building and optimising container images and using Docker Compose to support local development and testing environments.Practical experience deploying and supporting applications in Kubernetes, including deployments, services, ConfigMaps, secrets and troubleshooting containerised workloads.Proven ability to design, document, consume and maintain secure RESTful APIs, including authentication and authorisation using OAuth 2.0 or JWT, API versioning and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including Git-based source control, automated testing, code reviews, secure development, CI/CD pipelines and application troubleshooting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving application issues.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and contribute as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team.Previous experience working within a technology consultancy, managed services provider, software development agency or client-facing project environment is highly desirable.
