Position: Mechanical Design Engineer – Life Sciences Location: SC (Will sponsor TN Visa for Canadian Visa holders) Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support engineering and design activities for a Life Sciences manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical equipment and process system design within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams to deliver high-quality design solutions while ensuring compliance with GMP and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical systems, equipment, and process-related components for Life Sciences manufacturing facilities.Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, fabrication drawings, and detailed engineering documentation.Support equipment selection, specification development, procurement, and vendor coordination.Collaborate with process, automation, electrical, validation, and manufacturing teams throughout project execution.Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements.Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering change activities.Provide field engineering support during equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.Ensure all designs comply with applicable GMP, FDA, ASME, and company engineering standards.Assist with project documentation, technical reports, and engineering deliverables. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.Minimum 5 years of Mechanical Design Engineering experience.Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Medical Device industries.Proficiency in one or more CAD platforms:SolidWorksAutoCADCreoAutodesk InventorExperience designing manufacturing equipment, process systems, or mechanical assemblies.Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes.Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
