Description
About Cavtera
Cavtera builds digital solutions that connect real-world operations with data, software, and decision-making.
We work closely with clients to understand how their businesses operate on the ground, then translate those workflows into scalable applications and data systems using Palantir Foundry.
Our team operates with the pace, ownership, and adaptability of a startup while solving complex operational problems for established businesses.
We work directly alongside our clients, from the field to the executive level, to build technology that delivers measurable improvements to how their businesses operate.
The Role
We’re looking for a Intermediate Software Developer to join Cavtera’s growing development team.
You’ll build full-stack applications, data pipelines, and operational workflows on Palantir Foundry while working closely with the people who use them.
The role sits at the intersection of software development, data engineering, and client implementation: you’ll need to be as comfortable working through an ambiguous operational problem with a stakeholder as you are designing and shipping the technical solution.
We’re looking for someone with approximately 2-5 years of professional software development experience who is ready to take meaningful ownership.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team, but you’ll also be expected to independently own major workflows from operational discovery through implementation and production support.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building, learning quickly, working directly with users, and thinking beyond individual features toward scalable systems.
The internal role emphasizes this combination of independent technical execution, client-facing delivery, and solving ambiguous operational problems within a startup-style environment.
What You'll Do
Build applications in Palantir Foundry: Develop and maintain high-quality Foundry Workshop and OSDK applications that solve real operational problems.Own data pipelines: Design, build, and optimize SQL, Python, and TypeScript-based data transformations, with a focus on data quality, reliability, and appropriate sync frequency.Contribute to ontology design: Help design Object Types, Links, and Actions that accurately represent a client’s physical operations and business processes.Build across web and mobile: Contribute to web and mobile applications and ensure data moves reliably between field applications and Foundry.Translate operations into software: Work directly with stakeholders to understand existing processes — including manual workflows, spreadsheets, and paper-based systems—and turn them into clear digital requirements.Lead technical demos: Present work to non-technical stakeholders, explaining progress, trade-offs, limitations, and business value in straightforward terms.Support implementation and UAT: Work with end users during User Acceptance Testing, capture feedback and bugs, and help move solutions successfully into production.Own workflows end to end: Become the technical owner for major workflows, from initial discovery and architecture through deployment and production support.Maintain high engineering standards: Participate in code reviews, contribute to architecture discussions, and build modular solutions that can scale across clients.Document what you build: Maintain clear technical documentation and implementation SOPs so that solutions can be effectively supported by the broader team.
What We're Looking For
2-5 years of professional software development experience.Proficiency in TypeScript.Strong working knowledge of SQL, relational data, and database design.Experience building and maintaining production software.Strong problem-solving skills — you are resourceful, curious, and comfortable turning ambiguous problems into structured technical solutions.Strong communication skills, particularly when working with non-technical stakeholders. The ability to work independently and take ownership without needing constant direction. An interest in understanding how businesses actually operate, not just the software sitting on top of them.Willingness to periodically travel to client sites for discovery, implementation, and user testing.
Nice To Have
Experience with Palantir Foundry or another enterprise data/application platform.Experience building full-stack web applications.Familiarity with React, React Native, or other modern web/mobile frameworks.Experience designing data pipelines or data-intensive applications.Familiarity with ontology or domain-driven data modelling.Experience working directly with customers, operators, or other end users.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Experience with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.Proficiency in Python.
