About The Role The Empower System Engineer (QSC Lab Operations and Delivery) is accountable for the reliable, secure and compliant operation and lifecycle management of the Empower CDS, NuGenesis and Scitara systems and its supporting infrastructure. The role partners with Site Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and D&T teams to deliver stable QSC Lab services, execute changes and upgrades, and enable integrations across OT/IT layers in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GxP) requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide software development for Empower, NuGenesis and ScitaraSupport design technical solutions and architecture of supported product/service which fulfill customer, regulatory, and system requirementsProvide technical support for Empower, NuGenesis and Scitara services (environments, connectivity, performance, availability, backups, monitoring). Lead troubleshooting of complex incidents (L3) and drive root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions. Execute and/or lead systems upgrades, patches, hardening activities and lifecycle refresh aligned to site schedules and validation strategy. With cooperation of central Tech teams support the underlying technology stack (servers/VMs, OS, network connectivity, databases, storage, identity/access) Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and robust backup/restore procedures for CMDB components. Support validation and audit activities by providing technical input for qualification, change impact assessments, and evidence generation.Ensure configurations and changes meet data integrity expectations (e.g., ALCOA+), compliance and security requirements.Design, implement and support integrations between systems and Engineering/automation layer (equipment connectivity, interfaces, protocols) Collaborate with Automation/Engineering teams to ensure robust, supportable interfaces and clear ownership across OT and IT boundaries.Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture, runbooks, SOP/WI, KBAs).Improve service reliability through proactive monitoring, automation and standardization across sites.Provide input and expertise to project/development teams and support/coordinate technical deliverables. Essential Qualifications and skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.Experience (3-5+ years) in systems engineering / platform support in manufacturing or regulated environments.Demonstrable experience delivering complex technical changes (upgrades, migrations, integrations, deployments) with controlled change/validation.Knowledge of Oracle SQL for querying, analysing, and maintaining data.Familiarity of Agile, SDLC ways of working.Working knowledge of ITIL processes (incident/problem/change), with disciplined change execution.Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and logging/monitoring.Equipment connectivity, data acquisition, and interface troubleshooting across OT/IT boundary. Soft Skills Ownership & accountability: drives issues to closure, raises risks early, ensures sustainable fixes.Collaboration: effective partner to central Tech teams, Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering.Structured problem solving: strong RCA, data-driven decisions, clear communication under pressure.Continuous improvement mindset: standardizes and automates where possible; improves reliability and supportability. Preferred Experience supporting Lab systems (ideally Empower CDS, NuGenesis, Scitara)Knowledge of software quality assurance techniquesBasic knowledge of Networking: TCP/IP fundamentals, routing/switching concepts, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, firewalls, load balancing concepts, certificate/TLS basics.
