Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Software Engineer to build and implement AI-powered solutions within a highly technical research environment.
This role will focus heavily on AI agents, AI assistants, AI monitoring, and automation, while also supporting enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps initiatives.
The ideal candidate is excited about emerging AI technologies and enjoys turning them into practical solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and operations.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and integrate AI-powered applications, including AI agents, AI assistants, and AI monitoring solutionsExplore and implement emerging AI technologies to improve productivity, automation, and operational efficiencyDevelop enterprise applications and supporting services using Python and modern application development practicesBuild and support cloud-based solutions using AWSDevelop automation that streamlines IT, engineering, and research workflowsBuild solutions for ingesting and processing HPC data to support advanced use cases such as predictive maintenanceIntegrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications, data sources, and existing systemsSupport DevOps, CI/CD, application deployments, and cloud infrastructureMonitor application and AI system performance and identify opportunities for improvementWork with research and engineering teams to identify problems where AI, automation, or software can provide meaningful solutionsEvaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks and recommend opportunities for adoptionTroubleshoot application, integration, and deployment issues across the technology stackDocument solutions, processes, and application architecture
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering or application development experienceStrong programming experience with PythonHands-on experience developing AI-powered applications, AI agents, or AI assistantsExperience working with LLMs and modern AI development toolsExperience with AWS and cloud-based application developmentUnderstanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and application deployment practicesExperience building APIs, automation, and software integrationsStrong understanding of enterprise application developmentAbility to identify opportunities for AI, automation, and process improvementStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyComfortable collaborating with researchers, engineers, IT teams, and technical stakeholders.
Where We're Looking For It
Onsite in Schenectady, New York
Other Information
The work hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it.
We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required.
Salary dependent upon experience.
