We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team onsite in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on engineering experience in .NET, C#, and SQL, enjoys technical leadership, and wants to make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology. What You'll Do As a Lead Software Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and contributing to the full software development life cycle for large, complex initiatives. You will partner with engineering, product, business, and technical leaders to deliver solutions that support current needs while helping shape future technology direction. Lead and actively participate in the full software development life cycle for complex, enterprise-level projects Design, develop, enhance, and support applications using .NET, C#, SQL and related technologies Implement architectural and technical platform changes that improve scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability Partner with business and technical leaders to understand future solution needs and contribute to technology strategies Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to engineers across the team Mentor other technical associates to strengthen engineering practices, technical aptitude, and team engagement Research and recommend emerging technologies that support innovation, automation, and continuous improvement Establish and promote best practices for Agile delivery, team planning, code quality, and structured execution Collaborate across cross-functional teams to solve problems, remove obstacles, and deliver high-quality solutions Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, which may require availability outside standard business hours What You'll Bring We are looking for someone who combines strong technical depth with leadership, ownership, and a team-first mindset. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience At least 4 years of hands-on software development experience At least 4 years of experience with full lifecycle development using Agile methods Strong experience with .NET, C#, and SQL Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable software solutions Ability to work onsite in Overland Park, KS Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, product partners, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions and act decisively Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and guide others Preferred Qualifications Experience with Netsmart EHR solutions or healthcare technology Experience modernizing applications, platforms, or enterprise systems Exposure to cloud technologies, APIs, integrations, DevOps, CI/CD, or automation practices Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership within an Agile team Passion for improving healthcare through technology How You'll Show Up At Netsmart At Netsmart, how we work matters as much as what we build.
