About The Role
Our Radio Rigging Engineers are at the core of the BT Radio Access Network.
Their customers include a variety of vital stakeholders from dedicated subscribers to the emergency service network and military traffic.
Working at height which can be to heights of one hundred meters plus, they are required to utilise their specialist knowledge, skills and abilities in both radio and rigging to meet strict SLAs and team targets.
Responsible for work on all BT Tower and radio sites, streetside installations and exchanges - they are the vital connection for our essential services, responsible for build, maintenance and installation.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Trainee Radio & Rigging engineer in our Networks Field teams, you will enter the business at the ground level.
Your traineeship will have you completing a set pathway of internal/external training.
You’ll be taught how to work on our network, with a mixture of on the job and classroom training, over a period of 24 months.
At the end of this period, you will be assessed, and on successful completion of your assessment will assimilate as a Radio & Rigging Engineer within Networks Field Engineering.
Please note you will be required to maintain a level of physical fitness to conduct the role.
Essential Skills/Experience
ICT Literacy: Confident user of MS Office suite, especially MS Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail); Teamwork: Works well with and effectively supports wider team to understand patch and wider regional requirements and supports these effectively to meet wider CFU objectives.Ownership: Ability to take ownership of and effectively manage tasks, activities and resources.
