The Senior DevOps Engineer Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key technical owner of our cloud infrastructure and deployment ecosystem.
You will work across engineering to build highly reliable infrastructure, automate operational processes, strengthen our security posture, and make it easier for teams to ship quickly and safely.
This is a hands-on role.
We are looking for someone who is exceptionally strong in both AWS and Azure and can operate comfortably across complex cloud environments.
You should be the person engineers turn to when something needs to be architected, automated, scaled, secured, or fixed.
You will have significant autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to shape our infrastructure and DevOps practices as the company scales.
Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure across AWS and AzureDesign, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, highly available cloud architecturesBuild and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and other automation toolsOwn and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and release automationManage and optimize Kubernetes and containerized workloadsEstablish strong observability across infrastructure and applications, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance metrics using DataDogBuild systems and processes that improve reliability, uptime, scalability, and disaster recoveryPartner with Engineering and Security to identify and remediate infrastructure and cloud security risksManage cloud networking, identity management, object storage, RDBMS, access controls, secrets management, DNS, load balancing, and related infrastructureAutomate repetitive operational work and eliminate manual processes wherever possibleTroubleshoot complex production issues and lead infrastructure-related incident responseEstablish and improve infrastructure standards, documentation, and operational best practicesHelp evaluate and implement new cloud technologies and tooling as our architecture evolvesSupport the infrastructure requirements of high-scale AI/ML workloadsMentor engineers and raise the technical bar for cloud infrastructure and operational excellenceHelp define the long-term architecture and roadmap for our cloud and DevOps environmentWork with compliance resources for SOC2, ISO, and FedRAMP certifications
Who you are.
7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, or a closely related disciplineExpert-level experience with both AWS and Azure — this is a core requirementDeep understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, scalability, and reliabilityExtensive hands-on experience with Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code toolingStrong experience with Kubernetes and Docker/containerized environmentsDeep experience building and managing CI/CD pipelinesStrong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skillsExperience with cloud networking, including VPCs/VNets, routing, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and VPNsStrong understanding of IAM, secrets management, encryption, least-privilege access, and cloud securityExperience with monitoring and observability platforms and practicesStrong scripting/programming ability in languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or similarExperience operating production systems where reliability and uptime matterExcellent incident response and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership from architecture through implementation and operationsStrong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with software engineers, security teams, and technical leadership
