Role Description The KNX Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning KNX-based home automation systems for high-end residential projects in Muscat.
This full-time, on-site role involves translating client requirements and architectural plans into detailed KNX system designs, including lighting control, climate control, shading, and integrated entertainment solutions.
Day-to-day tasks include creating wiring diagrams and device schedules, configuring and programming KNX devices and IP interfaces, testing and troubleshooting installations, and collaborating with project managers, designers, and installation technicians.
The KNX Engineer will also provide technical support, perform system updates, prepare documentation and user guides, and occasionally participate in client meetings and handover training sessions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess KNX system design, programming, and commissioning skills, including experience with ETS software and KNX/IP integration.Candidates should possess home automation and control expertise, ideally with exposure to lighting control, HVAC integration, shading systems, and AV/entertainment solutions.Candidates should possess strong electrical and networking fundamentals, such as low-voltage wiring, basic circuit knowledge, and IP networking for connected devices.Candidates should possess troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills for on-site installation and system support.Candidates should possess clear communication and collaboration abilities to work with clients, designers, and technical teams, including documentation and training skills.Relevant KNX certification (Partner or similar) and prior experience in residential luxury projects are highly beneficial.A technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.Ability to work on-site in Muscat, manage multiple projects, and maintain high attention to detail in a design-driven environment is important.
