Junior UI Engineer

We are adding a Junior UI Engineer to our team to help us build internal software for our partner, a London-based financial services group. This partner manages high volumes of transaction data and needs clearer, more reliable interfaces for their operations staff to monitor these flows. You will be helping us build the front-end components that make complex data sets easier to manage and understand. This is a full-time, permanent position that is conducted entirely remotely. The Role As a Junior UI Engineer, you will spend most of your time building and refining the user interfaces for our client projects. For our partner in London, this means creating dashboards that help their team visualize financial data and manage internal records. You will not just be making pages look good: you will be making sure the interface is intuitive for people who use these tools every day. Since we are a fully remote agency, you will communicate with the rest of the team through video calls and shared documentation. Your day-to-day tasks will involve turning design requirements into functional React components, fixing bugs in existing interfaces, and ensuring that our tools work correctly across different web browsers. You will work closely with our senior developers to learn how to structure code for long-term stability. Because we are a small team, you will see your work being used by real people very quickly. What you bring We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building practical software. You do not need to have years of professional experience, but you should have a solid grasp of web development basics. We value clarity in code and communication. It is important that you can write code that other developers can read and understand without a manual. A basic understanding of how to build components in a framework like React. The ability to write clean, standard-compliant HTML and CSS. A preference for working on functional business tools rather than consumer-facing apps. The discipline to manage your own schedule in a remote environment. Comfortable explaining your technical choices to other team members. A focus on accuracy and attention to how a user interacts with a page. The ability to follow existing code patterns while learning new techniques. Helpful background While this is an entry-level position, familiarity with our core technology stack will help you get started. We primarily use React for our front-end work and Node.js for our back-end services. Having used GitHub for personal projects or coursework is useful, as we use it for all our version control. Basic knowledge of how to fetch data from an API and display it in a user interface is a strong starting point for this role. Any experience you have with basic data visualization or creating tables and forms will be directly applicable to the work we are doing for our London partner.
