Core Systems Engineer

THE ROLE Centinus is seeking a Core Systems Engineer to build and own the foundational software connecting our AI, mission, and autonomous capabilities. You will shape the core platform that enables major parts of the system to communicate, perform reliably, and evolve together. Your work will directly influence product architecture, system performance, engineering velocity, and our ability to introduce new capabilities. This is a highly influential role for a senior engineer who enjoys building the systems that other engineers and products depend on. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Design and maintain the foundational architecture of the Centinus platform. • Build high-performance software for real-time, data-intensive systems. • Define clear and durable interfaces between major platform components. • Enable reliable operation across distributed cloud and edge environments. • Own critical aspects of system performance, concurrency, resilience, and resource efficiency. • Create a foundation that supports new AI capabilities, integrations, sensors, and autonomous platforms. • Establish high engineering standards for architecture, APIs, testing, observability, and maintainability. • Serve as a technical leader and long-term steward of the core codebase. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Deep experience building high-performance production software. • Strong systems-programming expertise in C++, Rust, Go, or a comparable language. • Experience with distributed, asynchronous, event-driven, or real-time systems. • Strong understanding of concurrency, networking, APIs, and data-intensive services. • Experience defining stable interfaces across complex software systems. • The ability to reason across architecture, implementation, performance, and operations. • Strong technical judgment and the ability to lead through both design and code. • Comfort taking substantial ownership in an early-stage environment. Experience in robotics, autonomy, aerospace, computer vision, edge computing, command-and-control, or mission-critical systems is highly valued. BUILD WHAT MATTERS. GROW WITH CENTINUS.
