About This Role Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Onboarding Technology Team within the Cards and Personal Loans Organization. In This Role, You Will Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactAct as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplinesDesign, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programsReview and analyse complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factorsMake decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsLead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education5 + years of J2EE development experience5 + years of Microservices experience with RestAPIs5+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise-wide information technology solution. Desired Qualifications: 2+ years of experience with distributed streaming and event-driven architectures, using technologies such as Kafka or similar real-time data processing frameworksExperience with either Cloud & Container technologies: AKS/Azure/OCP/K8sExperience in setting up and using Observability/Monitoring tools: Elastic, Kibana, Grafana, AppDynamics, Kafka, Big Panda, Splunk Engineering and development experience with middleware messaging platforms including KafkaExperience with Docker and Kubernetes is important for packaging and deploying applications in containers and orchestrating them across multiple machines Experience with one or more CI/CD Pipeline (GitHub, Jenkins), Release management, and Automation tools: Gradle, Maven, Git Experience with GenAI technologies (LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, prompt engineering), AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex), and agentic AI solutions to enhance analytics, automation, and business capabilities.Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) Knowledge of database technologies: MongoDB, SQL/No SQL DBExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsBS/BA degree or higher in science or technology Expectations: Lead teams while partnering with global stakeholders across multiple time zonesDrive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementProficiency in using GitHub Actions and other version control systems is essential for managing code and deployments Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with developers, operations teams, and other stakeholders This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or visa transferRelocation assistance is not availableAbility to work onsite at listed location Posting End Date: 25 Aug 2026 Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.
