Your Opportunity  We have exciting opportunities for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Buildings team in Melbourne to support the multiple projects that are currently being delivered and for future projects we will be working on. The ideal candidate will support the VIC Buildings Civil team in the delivery of civil engineering design and documentation across multidisciplinary building, precinct and energy-related projects. In this role you will be responsible for: Prepare and coordinate civil design inputs for repairing and coordinating civil design inputs for grading, stormwater drainage, utilities, roads, access, pavements, earthworks and external works;Support project delivery through all phases, including Concept design, Detailed design, Construction phase servicesUndertake engineering and technical tasks such as Civil design calculations, Drawing reviews, Design checks, technical coordination under senior supervisionCollaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including Structural engineers, Building services engineers, Sustainability specialists, Digital engineering teams,Project managersAssist with authority approvals and stakeholder coordination.Contribute to project governance and quality processes, including Safety in Design (SiD) review, Quality assurance activities, Design review processesSupport the delivery of high-quality, compliant and coordinated civil engineering solutions across a range of building and infrastructure projects.Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and technical reports to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and project performance objectives. About You Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent relevant qualification3-7 + years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably in buildings, precincts, energy, aviation, education, commercial, infrastructure or urban development projects.Working knowledge of stormwater drainage, grading, pavements, utilities, earthworks, roads, access and external works.Familiarity with Australian Standards, VIC authority requirements and local design guidelines.Experience with civil design and documentation software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12d, DRAINS, MUSIC or equivalent tools would be desirableStrong attention to detail, clear communication, collaborative working style, commitment to quality, and willingness to develop technical capability under supervision are required Culture & Benefits Mott MacDonald celebrates diversity and inclusion, offering a supportive work environment that values work-life balance, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
