Learn more on dxc.com THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux/Unix Server Administrator to join our infrastructure delivery team. In this role, you will design, deploy and support enterprise-grade Linux/Unix environments across physical, virtual and cloud platforms, with a strong preference for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience. You will work closely with client stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams to ensure platform stability, security, compliance and ongoing performance optimisation. Adelaide is the preferred location; however, we will consider suitably experienced candidates based elsewhere in Australia. Key Responsibilities Install, configure and administer Linux/Unix environments including RHEL, Oracle Linux, CentOS, AIX and Solaris.Manage infrastructure across physical, virtual and cloud environments.Provision and manage OCI Compute, networking, storage and IAM services.Perform OS patching, upgrades, kernel tuning and lifecycle management.Manage filesystems, LVM, NFS/SMB mounts and storage provisioning.Configure and support high availability, clustering, failover and disaster recovery solutions.Develop automation using Bash/Ksh, Python and/or Ansible.Support infrastructure-as-code deployments using Terraform, OCI CLI and OCI Resource Manager.Apply operating system security hardening and support vulnerability remediation and compliance activities.Monitor platform health, capacity and performance.Provide L2/L3 support for complex infrastructure incidents and lead root cause analysis.Maintain operational documentation, runbooks and technical procedures. ABOUT YOU Strong hands-on Linux/Unix server administration experience within enterprise or managed services environments.Deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Oracle Linux.Experience with at least one additional Unix platform such as AIX, Solaris or HP-UX.Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, NFS and enterprise storage technologies.Scripting and automation capability using Bash, Python or Perl.Experience with enterprise virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere, KVM or OVM.Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident, change and problem management processes.Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability.Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure across Compute, Networking, Storage and IAM will be highly regarded. Exposure to Oracle Engineered Systems such as Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance or SPARC SuperCluster, as well as Terraform and Ansible, would also be advantageous. Relevant Oracle Cloud, Red Hat, Oracle Linux or ITIL certifications will also be viewed favourably.
