Cloud Engineer – Azure / Terraform / Kubernetes
About the role
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join a Cloud Platforms team within a global organisation.
You’ll be part of a centralised cloud engineering function responsible for designing, implementing, automating and supporting cloud infrastructure and platform services used across multiple business areas.
The role is particularly suited to someone with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes/AKS and CI/CD, who enjoys building scalable, automated and secure cloud platforms.
What you'll be doing
Design, implement and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as CodeDeploy and support Azure compute, networking, storage, security, monitoring and identity servicesBuild reusable platform components and automationSupport onboarding of application and workload teams onto cloud platformsOperate and troubleshoot Kubernetes / Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environmentsDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflowsContribute to cloud security, governance, monitoring and complianceSupport platform upgrades, reliability and performance improvementsWork closely with cloud architects, application teams, data teams and external partnersProduce technical documentation and contribute to cloud engineering best practices
What we're looking for
3+ years' experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering or DevOpsStrong hands-on Microsoft Azure experienceStrong knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as CodeExperience with Kubernetes, ideally AKSExperience with GitHub, source control and CI/CDGood understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, Private Endpoints, DNS, NSGs, load balancing and firewallsUnderstanding of cloud security, identity and monitoringStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAn automation-first mindsetGood communication and documentation skills
Nice to have
Experience within pharma, biotech, healthcare or another regulated environmentAzure, Terraform or Kubernetes certificationsExperience within a dedicated platform engineering / internal cloud services teamAWS experienceExposure to application, integration, data or AI platforms
