Optomi, in partnership with a leading national retailer, is seeking a Manager of Linux Platform to lead and modernize the organization’s enterprise Linux platforms across corporate and distribution-center environments.
This hands-on leadership role combines Linux infrastructure expertise, people management, automation, and platform modernization.
The right candidate will lead a team of System Engineers and Administrators while remaining technically engaged in a highly available, 24/7 enterprise environment.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
7+ years of Linux, DevOps, Systems, or Platform Engineering experience3+ years directly managing technical engineering teamsEnterprise production experience with RHEL or SUSE LinuxHands-on cloud experience with Azure, GCP, and/or AWSVMware vSphere or comparable virtualization experienceStrong Ansible, Terraform, Bash, and infrastructure automation experienceAdvanced Linux troubleshooting across systems, storage, networking, and authenticationExperience with Datadog, Dynatrace, Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring toolsEnterprise backup experience with Veeam, NetBackup, or RubrikExperience with NAS, NFS/CIFS, and enterprise networkingKnowledge of SOX, PCI-DSS, security, and complianceExperience supporting 24/7 mission-critical environmentsStrong communication and leadership skills
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of System Engineers and AdministratorsOversee deployment, patching, upgrades, performance, and lifecycle management of Linux platformsDrive automation using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, and CI/CDLead cloud and platform modernization initiativesServe as the escalation point for critical production incidentsLead root-cause analysis and corrective actionsOversee Linux, virtualization, NAS, SAN, and backup platformsEnsure platform security, availability, compliance, and disaster recoveryDrive monitoring, observability, incident, problem, and change managementPartner with infrastructure, security, applications, vendors, and business leadership
