Job Description As the first engineering hire at River, you will build the product across the entire stack, focusing on the backend services powering live AI calls. You’ll develop LLM workflows, browser-use agents, and data enrichment pipelines. Working directly with the founders, you will ship daily and see your work impact real sales calls immediately. What You Will Do Develop backend services and APIs for live calls, managing session states, complex integrations, and real-time data pipelines.Build and refine LLM-powered workflows, including prompt engineering and tool-use logic that guides the agent through complex live product demos.Engineer a browser-use agent using Playwright and CDP to navigate and control product UIs autonomously during live customer interactions. The ideal candidate Possesses 2.5–5 years of experience shipping production-grade software and a CS degree from a top-tier university or equivalent high-bar experience.Expert in TypeScript and Node.js with a strong backend focus, plus proficiency in React, Next.js, and integrating LLM APIs into real products.Demonstrates high ownership and product sense, capable of identifying problems and shipping solutions independently without the need for a Project Manager.
